Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) set out the conditions for use of the macOS application “stac” (the “App”) provided by Masayuki Kobayashi (the “Provider”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 (License grant)

Subject to these Terms, the Provider grants the user a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App. The license may be used only by the purchaser and on up to two Macs.

Article 2 (Prohibited acts)

Users must not engage in any of the following.

Article 3 (Paid plans and payment)

Purchases of Pro plans are made through the payment service designated by the Provider. A license is issued once payment is completed. Due to the nature of digital products, refunds or cancellations for customer convenience are generally not accepted. However, the Provider may respond individually in cases such as duplicate charges or payment issues.

Yearly plans renew automatically on the renewal date. Cancellation can be made through the account page or the contact form. After cancellation, Pro features remain available until the end of the current subscription period.

Founding Supporter, Early Supporter, and Launch Offer are limited pricing tiers for early supporters of stac Pro. Founding Supporter and Early Supporter move to the next tier once the combined purchase count of yearly and lifetime plans reaches each limit. Launch Offer is available only for 14 days from the official release date, after which Standard pricing applies.

Because price changes are applied automatically, the displayed price may change depending on the timing of purchase. Please confirm the final amount shown on the checkout page. The product name shown in checkout may differ from the tier name shown on the pricing page, but the displayed amount and purchased license terms will apply.

Yearly plans continue renewing at the tier price at which they were originally purchased. If you cancel and subscribe again later, the price available at that later time will apply. Lifetime plans allow continued use of Pro features through a one-time purchase. If certain features are offered in the future as separate products or separate licenses, separate terms may apply.

Article 4 (Updates and feature changes)

The Provider may add, change, or remove App features without prior notice. If a major feature is removed, the Provider will try to provide advance notice where reasonably possible.

Article 5 (Disclaimer)

The App is provided on an “as is” basis. The Provider is not liable for any damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the App, including loss of data or interruption of business.

The App is intended to support font previewing and organization. It does not guarantee whether any font may be used commercially, whether its license is valid for a given use, or whether it is suitable for a user’s legal or contractual needs. Users must confirm the applicable license terms with the font distributor or seller.

Article 6 (Intellectual property)

All copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights relating to the App and its contents belong to the Provider.

Article 7 (Termination of service)

The Provider may discontinue the App due to unavoidable circumstances. If this happens, the Provider will try to give advance notice where reasonably possible.

Article 8 (Changes to these Terms)

The Provider may revise these Terms when necessary. Revised Terms become effective when posted on the website.

Article 9 (Governing law and jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Provider’s location.
